Bio

Growing up, I was no stranger to the Doctor’s office. I was continually using cortisone cream for skin rashes, an inhaler for asthma or antibiotics for skin or ear infections. I loved it when my parents would use poultices and other natural therapies on me that they had learned from their parents or grandparents - it was all so intriguing to me. By junior high though, I began to question why my health problems were not getting any better. By high school, my mental and emotional state was on a downslide and I knew that anything “anti” like an anti-depressant was not the answer for me. I was fueled by the need to understand what was going on with my body. I had experienced periods in my life of good health and a feeling of being very joyous and energetic and I knew that I could find it again. In search of essentially trying to find myself again, I studied a lot on nutrition and health in general and I took several different certification courses in healing therapies.

The birth of my beautiful daughter brought the vaccination issue to the fore. After much research, I sought out a natural way to protect her, one that would do no harm. My searching led me to Patty Smith-Verspoor DMH in Ottawa. Patty suggested that I strengthen her immune system using natural oral immunizations made from the disease matter, in a very dilute form, a method called homoprophylaxis. I also purchased a fifty-vial homeopathic remedy kit and a homeopathic home prescriber on her advice. I gained so much confidence as a new mother when I discovered I could safely and effectively treat her fevers, colds and bumps and bruises in a very natural way.

It was through my daughter that I was brought to homeopathy and Heilkunst. I began Heilkunst treatment and started to see immediate changes in my own health status and I was learning in a very conscious way about myself and about why I was sick on different levels of my being. It became clear to me that if I was to raise her to the best of my abilities, in a truly wholistic way, I had to put my own health in the forefront for a while, sort of like they say on the plane prior to take off “Don your own mask before assisting others”.

I began to study the DHHP program with the Hahnemann College very soon after starting treatment with my practitioner. I graduated with my Diploma in Homeopathy & Heilkunst (DHHP) after four years of dedicated study and became a Doctor of Medical Heilkunst (DMH) with the Canadian/International Heilkunst Association in June 2006. I also hold certification in Dynamic Live Blood Microscopy and SCENAR Therapy, and I am presently a student of Creative Choices Inc. And as my reflexology teacher said to the class years ago, “I am a student of life”, and so it is that I, too, am a student of life. We never stop learning if we have the “eyes to see and the ears to hear” and an open mind.

I opened my Heilkunst practice in Grande Prairie, Alberta in July 2006. My door is open to children and adults of all ages.
